Recipe for success:
closeness to customers, every day

In 1992 Thorsten Lemke changed from Atari to Macintosh and wanted to convert his picture collection into one of the standard Mac formats. At that time there was no suitable software to achieve this. That was the reason why the electrical engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) decided to program an appropriate tool to do the job.

When Thorsten Lemke finally offered the GraphicConverter to other users on a shareware basis an impressive story of success began. Today GraphicConverter X | Classic has more than 1.5 million users and counts as one of the most used and loved programs on the shareware market. The program impresses users, specialists alike and even Apple itself (GraphicConverter is currently supplied with new Macintosh computers).

This success is naturally based on the quality of the program and also to a large extent on the commitment of loyal GraphicConverter users. Their wishes and ideas have actively supported the program and helped Lemkesoft develop the conversion tool into the mature image editing program it is today. The close contact to users is an important reason why qualified and especially quick support is a must for Thorsten Lemke and his co-workers. An example: every day Thorsten Lemke himself answers between 200 and 300 e-mails from users from all over the world. Apart from that there are regular program updates which add new or extended functions  to GraphicConverter X | Classic every 6 or 8 weeks.

As time progressed three further products were added to the Lemkesoft portfolio: CADintosh, FontBook and SnapsCleaner. In addition, Lemkesoft continues to develop individual solutions for special customer requirements. We have many happy users who implement our software in their projects, Web Hosting Search (a leading webhost review guide) is just one of many examples out there.

Yet the focus of the company is clearly centered on the maintenance and further development of the GraphicConverters - a product which for many users is as natural a part of their Mac as Apple's operating itself.
